Tawnya Falkner, CEO & Proprietor of Le Grand Courtâge
Tawnya Falkner’s passion for food, wine and travel, sent her on a journey to France after seeing a gap in the sparkling wine category related to price, palate and packaging. Tawnya sees food and wine as the common denominator that brings people together for great conversation and laughter, epitomizing the human connection. Given this belief, Tawnya took the leap and gave up her career as a real estate developer and designer in San Francisco to pursue her dreams.
Tawnya’s vision was to create an affordable luxury which embodies the French spirit of joie de vivre (joy of life) and elevates life’s everyday moments. Her journey resulted in Le Grand Courtâge, which produces award-winning French sparkling wine and the newly launched still wine, Très Chic Rosé.
Tawnya was educated at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) and previously co-founded two still successfully operating firms, Strategic Development Solutions and Domus Development. She has served as a developer as well as a policy strategist and consultant for government agencies, corporations and nonprofit groups. From her experience in launching businesses in both real estate development and wine, Tawnya understands how to implement a vision and address market opportunity, while balancing financial realities and navigating complex regulatory requirements.
After launching Le Grand Courtâge and growing it into a national brand with distribution in 44 states, Tawnya has realized that success in the wine industry requires a combination of art, science, strategy and relationships. Her wines have been poured on Virgin America Airlines and are currently featured by Holland America Cruise Lines, MGM Resorts and T-Mobile Stadium in Las Vegas, and California Pizza Kitchen, World Market and Kimpton Hotels nationally.
Le Grand Courtâge wines have appeared on The Today Show, Access Hollywood, Check Please! Bay Area and Fox News, as well as in Martha Stewart, People, Vogue, The Knot, Domino, Architectural Digest, Cosmopolitan, Huffington Post and AOL.com.
Le Grand Courtâge is proudly operated by an all-female team. The brand often partners with women-owned brands and non-profit organizations that benefit women. Tawnya and Le Grand Courtâge are members of Women of the Vine and Spirits, Women’s Cocktail Collective and Forbes LA Business Council.
