Ryan Emmons, Founder & CEO, Waiakea
Born and raised in California and Hawai’i, Ryan Emmons gained an incredible appreciation for the environment and the active lifestyle embraced in each. This, and his longstanding work with clean water non profits led him to begin developing the concept for Waiākea Hawaiian Volcanic Water with the hope of creating a transformation within the bottled water, beverage, and greater CPG industry, moving away from singular profit and towards a triple bottom line model that emphasizes people and planet.
Ryan Emmons attended the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Social Entrepreneurship. At USC, Emmons was a Rath scholar and developed the brand ethos and feasibility analysis for Waiakea with his cousin, Hawaiian artist and game designer Alex Preston, and Matt Meyer in the top ranked Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial studies.
Emmons graduated early to launch Waiakea and its unique triple bottom line platform into what it is today- one of the fastest growing founder owned beverages in the United States that is now distributed in over 20,000 stores. Emmons was selected as a Bridge Entrepreneur by SVN (Social Venture Network) and was more recently featured by Beverage World Magazine as one of the 10 most disruptive leaders in the beverage industry for Waiakea’s initiatives and groundbreaking social platform. He remains committed to Waiakea’s vision to sustainably provide healthy, delicious, Hawaiian Volcanic Water with the blessing of indigenous kapuna and konohiki, while contributing to and promoting clean water access and education to people in need in Hawai’i and throughout the world.
Emmons is responsible for the strategic vision and execution of Waiakea’s sales, marketing, finance and sustainable innovation.
